Giovanna
I must agree with Jacob.. cost of education is rising and the Guide to personal finance is a very good tool for the newly emancipated student.. However, I would suggest that as parents we better prepare our junior and senior High school students a little more about money management during their last two years of HS.. By giving them a set allowance and requiring that they cover the cost of school events and be responsible for shopping for their own groceries, they begin to learn a little about money management.

Great Student Guide.. but time to add somemore to it.. now that everyone is struggling financially, and rising gasoline prices.

No matter what the dos and don't may be when it comes to debt, the cost of an education at in state or out of state tuition is out of control. It took me 10 years to pay back my student loans and it was in no way worth it considering the job market. All of this will be resolved through online education I believe. Good article and yes I do agree that a better understanding would help a small portion. If you are at college and you are not on daddy and mommey's dime you already have a pretty good sense of financial responsibility. IMO
