Need a Thesaurus?

You might have a big term paper but don’t want to recycle the same old words. Instead of reusing them, you might find a thesaurus handy. If you don’t have one of those, you might want to try a cheat sheet. Check the synonyms for words commonly used in students’ writing instead. It’s certainly a good guide to have handy in case you need it — and you never know if you will.

Here’s an example piece:

Bad: evil, immoral, wicked, corrupt, sinful, depraved, rotten, contaminated, spoiled, tainted, harmful, injurious, unfavorable, defective, inferior, imperfect, substandard, faulty, improper, inappropriate, unsuitable, disagreeable, unpleasant, cross, nasty, unfriendly, irascible, horrible, atrocious, outrageous, scandalous, infamous, wrong, noxious, sinister, putrid, snide, deplorable, dismal, gross, heinous, nefarious, base, obnoxious, detestable, despicable, contemptible, foul, rank, ghastly, execrable

Of course, you don’t have to use all those words, but it makes life easier, doesn’t it?

If you need to find variety for words that aren’t on the list, you’d be happy to know that Thesaurus.com should cover most, if not all, of your bases.
